Seminar Dr. D. Strivay

Dr. David Strivay from Université de Liège will give a talk on particle accelerator applications in research and industry.

Abstract: Our laboratory is specialized in the application of particle accelerators in applied research and industry. We are equipped with 2 Van de Graaff accelerators and a variable energy cyclotron. Our main research activities are in the development and the use of ion beam analysis techniques such as Particle Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE), Particle Induced Gamma-ray Emission (PIGE) and Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry (RBS) in the field of cultural heritage object analysis and in analytical chemistry. Another field of activities is Thin Layer Activation (TLA) to study material wear. We will present here the different analytical setups available at our laboratory and different applications.

You are cordially invited to attend this seminar which will take place in our conference room (Bloc D Local 10.21) on Thursday 3rd May 2012 at 15:00
